i am having a prob with my truck bogging out under load ie:heavy acceleration...would a clogged cat cause this and would it only be under load or all time? if on highway i can go 75-85 no prob but if i acc too fast it boggs, or if at a dead stop i floor it , it boggs...
a clogged cat is usually, but not always , something that effects the vehicle at all times. a bad excellerator pump could also cause those symptoms, good luck, bob
sorry about that , you dont have one , if you live in a state that has im stations , haveing them do a computer diagnostic for you is a real quick, cheep way to pinpoint the problem , the nice thing about them is that theyre not trying to sell parts or labor, good luck, bob
I have seen clogged cats keep a car from going faster than 65, like it just hit a wall and would not go any faster, gutted it it, full of white marbles. put back on and ran normal. this was back in the early 80's, don't know if gutting a cat will mess with sensors on this newer stuff.
