I would think a ranger would suit your needs nicely and be cheaper to operate than the others. You're a young buck as I recollect, right? Best to watch your finances with large educational expenditures still ahead.
I guess it depends on what your needs are. I was originally going to buy a smaller truck, but when the difference was only a few thousand dollars, I'm glad I got what I did. Plus I like to have the availability of more hauling capacity. I also like the more secure feeling, on the highway, rather than feeling like I could be a bump in the road to a Semi, in an accident, like in a smaller vehicle. A heavier truck is better in the long run, for traction and digging your way through snow etc. IMHO
Well I love my bronco. I can haul like a truck, carry five people, and still have a five star crash rating (those little rangers scare me). What years are the vehicles you are looking at? Have you decided on a motor? Gas mileage will vary between those three choices...
If your young, I would start small.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Bronco. But if I was still in school, and not working full time, it wouldn't be practical.
Depends on the type of driving you do and the condition of each vehicle.
A 4x4 ranger with the larger 6cyl is not going to get much better, if any, mileage than an F150 4x4.
However, a 2wd with a 4cyl and a 5 speed will get you decent mileage that neither the bronco or F150 will get. Unless this is the case, toss out the Ranger.
If you consistantly take 2 or more people with you, the bronco is the way to go.
If you don't usually take anyone with you and you just want a truck, buy the F150.
Then again, this is assuming all are in equal condition and equally priced.
I'm a soph in college and my ranger is very ideal. Perfect for the 10-15 minute commute with space for all my books and crap. I rarely haul stuff in the bed but when a friend needs something moved or my parents need it, it sure is handy. I think overall it's just tough to beat a compact truck. They're a jack of all trades!
I was also looking at all three a little while ago. I had crossed off the rangers and was on my way to buy a Bronco when i saw my baby lonely on the side of the road with a for sale sign. (the 95 F150) It may sound goofy but look at all three and when the right one comes along you will know (price, condition, ect.)
