Just figured Isd tell a story, I am quite, well spare the curse words, angry.
I just yesterday quit my job, been there since aug 24 of 2003.
My main reason(s) for doing so is, they treat ya like manure, and you'd think after being there nearly 6 months they would send me out on the camp jobs and what not and leave the new labourer (been their 1 week) at the yard/washbay.

I worked for an oilfield rental company. There is also another guy their, been their 2.5 months. They send the new guy out and leave me and my buddy at the yard, not once but 3/4 times in a span of 4 days. Why?? To me its a bunch of bs.
Every one who starts their is sent to the washbay and stay there for at least 1 month. And few days into the new year my boss told me he gave me a raise.... a $2 raise. Tomorow is our payday, and im friends with one of the secretarys there. She told me he is holding my cheque ( and my buddies too, he also quit,last night) til I go there and talk to him. ANNNNND he also told the secretary to re-do my cheque without the raise on it.

On top of that, on friday night I was going to get some kfc and i got pulled over, ended up getting an inspection notice. So now im %$&#^.
Im this close to just snapping.
I had to vent, feel free to comment, if you actually read it,

Hopefully things turn out, keep in mind that witholding your pay is illegal, unless you guys broke soem htings while you were leaving.

Yeah i was planning on getting my friend who works there to bring it home for me (cheque that is) But the boss says nope. no one hands these out but me (mine and my other friends cheque)

I didnt give my 2 weeks or anything, I quit on the spot, and left.
Didnt break anything or burnout of the yard.
Who would i go aobut telling this too??? Labour board?

 

I noticed your goofy spelling of labor. Are you in Canada? Cause then I don't really know, sorry.

 

He can hold it up to 2 weeks because you never gave him 2 weeks notice.

Now if he fired you, he has to pay you in something like 7 days.

Better check the BC labour board web site and find out for sure.

that could suck if he holds it for 2 weeks......bills.
But im going in tomorow to talk to him and get my money.

 

Not understanding who this new guy is,makes it hard to understand whats happening .Is he more qualified for that camp job?Did he get hired for different reasons than you?Too much grey area here.Sounds like you weren't happy anyway.Maybe he wanted to replace you or your friend,so instead of firing you,he got you to quit.Good luck with your situation.
