Vacuum Leak somewhere causes ERRKK while driving..? NO IDEA!
I thought it was a belt- WRONG
I thought it was a pully- WRONG!
Its a Vacuum leak somewhere on the passenger side of my 3.0L 1996 Ranger with the 5speed. It makes a nice ERKK like a belt when I start it and if I sit idlein and rev it up to about 2500 real fast it goes ERRK , ERRK and th RPMS going up....NO IDEA! And its to dang cold to mess with it...Any ideas? As soon as it gets fixed its going up for sale I hate this truck!

Your best bet would be to get someone to rev up the RPMs while you have your head underneath the hood close to the engine. If the noise is as clear as you say, then you should be able to track it down with a little investigation.
Keep in mind that when it gets cold, old rubber hoses get hard and brittle which can cause vacuum leaks at connections points, or hoses popping off, that kind of thing.
And don't rule out the idler/tensioner pulley (they seem to act up when it gets cold), either.
