Question 2HI setting on dash

To all, I have a question. I have a 2K EB 4X4. I do not have a 2HI option on my selector switch . Two of my friends have the option, one is a 97' EB and one is a 01' Navi. Was this a option? Can I put this on my truck without too much difficulty? Does it make that much of a difference in MPG, that is why I would want to do it.

Thanks to all in advance. Rick

For 4x4 Expeditions 2HI was a transfer case selection during the following model years: 1997, 1998, 2003 and 2004. It was standard equipment. No alternate transfer cases or mode selection options were available. But for the fact that Lincoln didn't offer the Navigator as a 1997 model, this information also applies to the Navigator.

It's not economically feasible to modify your Expedition to include a 2HI selection. The expense would far outstrip any savings from slightly improved fuel economy.
