I tried different bulbs including 80w/100w halogens without much change. Must be cheap plastic relectors and lens as the light seems to be everywhere but on the road.
I have seen Projector Headlight OEM Style Replacements for Chev Trucks but have yet to find same for F350. Any suggestions or sources for better OEM style lights like those found at [URL=http://www.ipcw.com/headlights/index.html]
I thought about driving lights but they can be a bit inconvinient for around town driving - that is unless I could tie them into high/low bean switch.
I also wasn't very happy with the lights on my F-350. I purchased the Brite Box; a plug and play setup. It creats the same effect as having the flash-to-pass lights on...so both high & low beams remain on at the same time. I got them from Ford Performance Specialist. v/r Les
I just put on the "jeweled lens" headlights. WHAT a difference!!
I think these are better than the APC and I love the look. I added the SILVERSTARS to see if they made a difference, not much overall difference using different bulbs.
I also went with piaa replacement bulbs in the headlamps,
then 9005's in the fogs, then added paia 520's...
Now ordering the suvlights.com wiring harness, advertised (and touted here) to give 2 or so more volts to the lights directly from the batteries... which should be a significant boost in the light output...
They give a much brighter, softer light. It lights everything much better than stock but doesn't hurt your eytes on long trips. Cheap too.
The other option is the APC upgrade.. they have the projector style headlights with i think 3 bulbs in there.. i am not sure on the exact setup.. maybe someone has a pic.
V-10 Junkie is right just get the headlights aimed CORRECTLY. Save your cash for exhaust, chips etc. Not over powering fancy light bulbs to blind oncoming drivers. I'd rather hit a deer, than cause an accident.

I am not finding Jeweled lens or Silverstars (bulbs??). Please let me know where I can view/purchase.
Definitely watch out screwing around with higher wattage headlights. They can and will either set your wiring harness on fire or melt your PLASTIC headlight lenses. The OEM jewel effect headlights on my '04 F250 are plenty bright enough for ANYONE on the road. Anything brighter and you're just P'ing off the on coming drivers. Get some off road lights for when you need the extra light. Don't set them up for use all the time. Bright headlights are almost as bad as people that don't use their blinkers and cut you off in traffic. Doesn't happen so much anymore with the new truck...
Hey Heavyassault, if u don't mind, how much did the conversion cost you?? I have long wanted to switch out the lights on my 99 for the new style ones, they look much cooler. I also want to maybe switch the yellow front markers for the new style clears. Dunno... KP
You can find the OEM jeweled headlights and corners on EBAY. You should be able to get them for around $250. You will really like the look, (for me) plus the added lighting to the roadway.
I believe one can wire the lights through a relay where all the amp load is carried by the correct sized relay. The high/low switch becomes a low amp load switch that simply tells the relay when to do its thing.
Several have posted to use the SUVLIGHTS.com harness. This is a beefer harness that uses the input from the stock plug to activate the relay. Most report good results since the new harness is wired directly to the battery.
