where can i get a kit that has all of the bolts and nuts for the front sheet metal? im talking about those wierd nuts that have a clip on the backside and clip to the sheet metal to hold on the front grille & headlight chrome?
or am i just not making any sense at all?
or do i just go to my local bolt store with one and have them set me up?
Yes I do know what your talking about, and no I have no idea where to find them. I broke a few two, I'm going to try some places online and a few ma and pop hardware stores around town. Sorry this wasn't much help, -4speed
Check Restoration Specialties & Supply Co. Their 190+ page catalogue is fully illustrated so if you know what it looks like, then you will probably find it there. Hope this helps a bit.
Those weird things are called caged nuts. Do a search. I asked the same question about them a while back. Seems like there was another supplier mentioned then. I can't remembere and don't have my notes in front of me now.
The people at Restoration Specialities are good. Last time I ran into them at a swap meet, I had a handful of clips and cagenuts from my F1. When I held out my hand and ask if they had any, the guy identified them as F1 items and led me right to the bins at their display. They are continually adding new tooling and parts.
