Engine warning light
My -02 F350 V-10 has a small yellow dash warning light that is shaped like a small engine block. A couple times after filling and pulling a load, this light has come on and stayed on. The manual says that this means that the gas tank cap is not on, there is water in the gas, or I am not using high enough octane (I burn 89 octane) and it should go off after about 3 cold start cycles. It doesn't. It also says that if it stays on too long the red check engine light will come on. It didn't.
Last time it did it i didn't worry about it. Ran the truck for a few days, still on. Filled up with 89 octane, went off.
Suggestions?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Jul-02 AT 00:18 AM (EST)]Next time the light comes on, drive to your service dept and have them check the codes right then & there. If they shut the truck off, it may clear the code. That's the only way you'll ever know what the light is really indicating.
