tire size

i want to add some extra height to my truck without an expensive lift kit. anybody know the biggest size tire i could fit without a lift? i have Goodyear P265/70R17 All-Terrains right now.

285/70/17 i would guess. thats about 32" tall. not too familiar with 150's so dont hold me to it. your usually safe one size larger then OEM.

hmm... that's not adding much overall height. what would you suggest as another option, seeing that i am on a budget?

you can always crank the torsion bars, and put a aal in the rear, but this will stiffen the ride and youll need an alignment

youl be able to run 305's pretty easily this way

ok i'm new to this so i don't really know what it means to crank the torsion bars. and what's an aal? can you explain?

on IFS (Independant Front Suspension), you can manually crank the Torsion bars to increase the ground clearance up front. you usually get an added inch or two. aal? i have no idea, i guess its like a block that we have on the super duties. it would ultimately keep the same level of the truck after tweaking the torsion bars. please correct me if im wrong, just an educated guess.
