WENT FROADIN TODAY, AND A DIRT PILE RIPPED OFF MY DRIVER'S SIDE FACTORY RUNNING BOARD. WHO MAKE THE TOUGHEST NERF BARS? TORE UP SOME SMITTYBUILTS ON ANOTHER TRUCK.
THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS.
Thanks for the response Jeremy,
Looks like a good simple solution. I'm a Metal Fabricator and think I will try something like that. Sometimes I get lazy and look for something to buy instead of building it right.
are they really necessary? i mean they have already proved to be in the way! I am gonna use some kind of logging chain (small grade) kind of like a rope ladder for my truck so it will just glide over obstacles rather than catch'em like a hook!
By buddy has something on his GMC similar to what Jeremy posted. He built them himself and had them Rhino Lined (or something similar). He calls them his "side bumpers" . . . great for people who don't open doors carefully in a parking lot. They're absolutely indestructable and they protect your rockers from getting thrashed when you're in rocks and junk.
with you being a metal fab'r. i'd fab up my own bar's. i forgot where i read this at, but a guy built his own nerf bars that where useful in 2 ways, 1 by easy access into truck and the other they was sealed and used for a air tank.
