I ordered a service manual off Ebay. In it it says that the display is configurable using a New Generation STAR (NGS) diagnostic tester or a Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS).
So I am wondering to ask the dealer or maybe a small shop that would have this tester.
I have a new sensor for my '02 on order - should have it tomorrow. I will post the p/n later. The cost was $25 in Canadian $'s, so thats about $1.25 US! ;-)
The sensor is mounted just behind the grill, just in front of the rad opening on the passenger side. Check to see if you have a 2 wire harness leading to that location.
I found the wire. What does the sensor look like? There is a cylindrical black piece about an inch long on the end of the wire. Is that the sensor, or just some kind of terminator?
The sensor is also cylindrical and has a "probe" end maybe a 1/4 inch long that protrudes from the body of the sensor. If you look closer it should be fairly easy to tell if its actually a sensor or just the plug that the sensor fits into. Time permitting I can post a photo later.
