Okay, I keep seeing everybody drawing distinctions between 99 and 99.5, but for no other years do I see the .5 designator used. So what was the big difference? Mine must be a 99.8 since I got it so close to the Y2Ks ;-)
I know there must be more changes than the one I'll list but my mind is somewhat...let's say...cluttered right now...
I do know right now, that the badges changed. The PSD badge went to the door and I believe that the others became the way they are now, changing from the gay looking ones that first came out.
Ford changed a few things due to the first year of the new line.
I don't know what is involved with the gassers.
I do know the Powerstroke had some changes probably to counter some first year woe's.
Bigger Turbo
Different injectors
Larger Inter-cooler
Air box change
Different 4r100(don't know why)
Dress wise beside what monsta said about the door badges, 99.5 deleted the side trim on the bed. Go figure
Ford took 2 years to produce the 99's. My guess is they figured they changed enough to designate the early/late 99's.
