Has anyone done the late model SD aero headlight swap-out to ordinary sealed beams? Anyone got a parts list - I have misplaced mine.
If you dont know why this mod is desirable, its to be able to run high wattage H4 bulbs since the stupid aero enclosures are plastic and can't support high wattage safely. I hate these new aero bulbs - my 20 year old toyota has better headlights than my 2000 Ford!!!
PIIA has a nice set of replacement bulbs. I have the super white in my truck. They are quite a bit brighter than the factory bulbs, but they do cost more too.

How do you solve the problem of the H7 (or whatever the aero bulbs are) having tiny little connectors that wont support the current necessary to drive 100 watt bulbs? I read a tech article where a guy showed that these type connectors (unlike the H4s which have huge big lug type connectors) will not support more than about 60 watt current draw safely.
I have done the hi-wattage wiring conversion on both of my other vehicles, and I love it, and now I want to do it on my SD.

I actually didn't realize that I had a problem. They have been in there for 6 months now and I periodically check them to make sure they aren't melting anything, like the base...but I do not know honestly if that is the best solution right now.
As for the size. The bulb says 9007 and also HB5. Is that the H7 that you talked about?

Yes, I would like to make something like what suvlights.com offers but do it a bit cheaper.
