Not sure what you mean by rocker panels, side boards? I have factory sideboard "lariat" and because of my side board the truck didn't come with the lower trim/seal that I see some other rigs. As a result mud flipped up onto the running boards can get up in the door. I solved this issue by putting on mud flaps eliminate the mud from getting under the door.
If you don't have sideboards maybe you didn't get the lower seal either?
I have the same darn problem. It really ticks me off that the bottom seal is so crappy. I get tons of dirt past it. I guess mudflaps are the most sure way to go. But I don't like mudflaps more than I don't like the dirt. Pretty half-*** backwards reasoning, but it gets me through the day.
this is a 2001 f250. by rocker panels, I mean the area the lower door seals against. I have mud flaps, but no sideboards. I do have front and rear steps, which get covered with road slime. I have seen different style seals on other f-250s.
More comments? Think ford would respond to a warranty gripe? I live too far away from a dealer to drop in.
I have this same problem and it is damn annoying. I washed the truck the other day after it got more than a little muddy. After I was done I went to get in, and the entire area inside the doors and on the cab frame was covered in dirt and mud, on all 4 doors! I was not impressed. The seals all around the doors let just about everything through. I can't beliwve that on a vehicle that you pay the kind of money for that you pay for a Superduty, they can't keep mud and water from coming through the doors, pathetic.
As for a warranty claim, I'd say the chances are slim to nil at best, just one of those annoying things we'll have to learn to live with.
