A few questions I have that despite my Google searching I can't seem to find a good answer for.
What is the OEM wattage for our headlights? (So far my guess is 55watts\65watts)
Any have experience with Phillips Xtream Vision 9007 bulbs?
Are the above bulbs within the OEM specs?
Has anyone here added a headlight wiring upgrade kit to their truck?
It's not that hard to get the info by looking at the stock bulb number.
Go to a store and look at the catalog for that number.
For example the 2002 uses a #9007 lamp.
The usual wattage is 65/55 as DOT approved.
I run a lamp that is rated 10% brighter and is a very good upgrade and still DOT approved without undue excessive current and overheating the plastic lamp housing in hot ambient summer temps standing still.
It's really not impressive to have some idiot with spot lights for head lights comming at you on the road just because they think it's cool to run bulbs that hot in intensity and blind the oncoming traffic.
A lot of illegal lamps being run these days.

I fully understand that might be the reason my headlights weren't re aimed after the first owner put on the lift kit so they are pointing at the first 10-15ft in front of the truck on low and about what I would expect to be normal low beam ranges when my brights are on.
On the illegal lamps issue it seems like more than 75% of my neighborhood has done a HID conversion of one form or another and blinds everyone else.
Hybris, theres a thread that you and I were a part of that I started where I asked about the HID. I cant remember the guys name but he had a wiring upgrade thingy. Here's the link: Upgraded Headlight Harness for 94 to 04 Ford with 9007 Bulbs
