Well i put a 460 in my 80 bronco with a ton of googies.Headers was one off them.GO CERAMIC it gets hot enough under the hood of mine that it caused fuel stability problems even with heat sheild for carb.Hardened the material that holds hood to under carrage off hood so it seperated.Trust me spend the extra for ceramic on what ever you buy.I learned the hard way.90% of this was header heat ceramic helped me out.
no real pref, just look for the thickest flanges and what fits.Have mine coated by some people that i know and they trued any imperfections before coating. They did a great job.Doing it this way saved me $250.00 over an already coated pair.Put that into more hp parts lol.
Man I love these forums! Ok...I have an 86 with a 302 EFI (from a 1980) (also manual transmission). Anybody else find or have headers that will fit this beast? I have tried a number of parts mags and can't find anything that matches up. I would love shorty headers so I don't have to rearrange exhaust either. Will Mustang headers match up? curious....
Changes are good they won't,you have to get the parts guys too do some cross referancing for you but i'm sure there is one for that type of engine swap. What was in there to begin with(motor)?
a 5.0 is a 5.0 ..stang headers should fit...the only differenceis firing order and such...but 351 and mustang headers will fit the motor it is just a question of if the clear the frame and body...but any year bronco header should fit ur truck
normal 5.0 mustang headers ? Your muffler shop better be good at bending and one hell of a job too make those pass all the crossmembers, drivers side for sure.Save yourself some muffler shop money and get a set for a truck 5.0 that fit.
Any problems with Summit's headers?? Seem to cheap to be true, but if no problems, I think I might get a set and get them ceramic coated, anybody know who does this??
I have a set of summit 351 headers in my Jeep, where i have an EFI 351 from a 90 250. I put them on about 4 years ago and have had not one problem since. The paint did burn off after about 6 months, but other than that, not a problem. In fact, I just bought a set for my bronco.
I had a set of MAC shorties ceramic-coated on my 88 Bronco. They sounded great, and didn't ever rust in the 20K miles I had them on it. I think they were around $280. I wish I had the time to swap them onto my 91 before I sold it. I've also got MAC exhaust on my Mustang, and it seems to be as good quality as the headers. I'll probably go eith them again on my 91.
