Question shifts points and octane

Just received my superchips tuner. Reading the instructions has generated a couple of questions. If I choose the 87 octane program for by v10 will I have and changes to shift points and performance improvements? I do tow on a regular basis (but I'm trying to save money of fuel).

Next question:....are the shift points adjusted automatically or is that a manual process. I'm not mechanical and I'm concerned I could really screw something up....thanks....

You can change everything individually that's why you bought the programmer, if you want to run 87 octane, but want firmer shifts, do it, if you want to run 93 octane and have stock shifts, do it, there are differnt levels you can set everything, just spebd some time playing with it, the firmer the shift the longer the tranny life, if you want to run the 87 octane setting, go through and bump everything else up, just because your running 87 doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the tuner. I believe it does have automatic settings if you want to use them, but I recomemd you program it yourself. Have some fun with it!

Performance improvements are virtually nothing with 87 octane. The primary benefit of the 87 octane setting is a better shift strategy. Try it out with premium fuel, you'll be surprised at what it will do and will probably not go back 87.
