Ive heard doing the shackle flip pushes the axle forward a lot, but on your it doesnt look like it did much. Other trucks like mine (reg cab short bed) looks like its way to far forward...i want to do it on mine to but thats the only thing holding me back. Its so tempting seeing the flex you got from it.

not sure if i follow. there are several ways you can do this. mine was the most expensive but the easiest/least prone to failure.

1) you can remove the leaf spring/shackle and then cut a hole in the bracket itself. then flip the shackle over and push it throught the bottom of the shackle. that is one way but it is weak
2) you can get rear leaf spring, front hangers (the hangers on the front of the rear springs) and use them but there is a lot of guesswork and drilling to get it right
3) order from Sky then paint them, remove old brackets, drill out holes to proper size, install brackets, re-install shackles

ok, well, i was thinking, if i take the shackle that is on the left, the rear one, flip it verticallly, spin it 180 degrees, and then bolt it on where the the rear shackle would have been on the right side. you get it now. someone from pirate showed me pics when i asked, but thats all, no info.

to get the same lift from just flipping the rear shackle brackets over.....your gonna have to drop them a bunch

as jason listed above, those r the most common ways to do a shackle flip on the fords, only thing is the shackle is designed to be in tension, and is compression the design is alot weaker, check out this link to a solution form the ford f450 http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...hreadid=214342

also while many people run the stock rear brackets with the hole cut in the bottom and no reinforcement, its pretty simple to weld a piece of angle iron over the top to help sturdy things

i think you can also buy new front rear spring hangers from ford for 20-30 bucks?

good, ill do that to the back, and then put 6" springs in the front. or maybe 4", what do you think?? this could turn out pretty good, wouldnt have to buy those super expensive lift spring for the back now. im thinking 4" with a 1" block maybe.

haha, now i just need a free 6" front lift haha. do you guys know where i can get a used lift. i have the ttb, so it sucks for lifts, or even better, where can i find a D44 straight axle ready for intallation for my truck. out of a later 70s bronco/F150 right? i have a ford 9" that just needs axles right now, dont know the ratio though, came out of a 65 ford 4wd. one more thing, can a D60 be set up for coils and radius arms for an F150, cause that would be bad ***. thanks
