are there any big problems with the trannies in the 90-94 F-150's
i am going to buy one and i need to know if the trannies going out is a big problem with them
Depends on if it is a 3 speed or a overdrive. The c 6 3 speed is realy tuff. Some of the O.D. trannies did not hold up good under presure. But they were ok for every day driving, and if not put into O.D. when towing.
We are assuming is is an automatic, is it a manual? If so i would not even bother, the Mazda 5 speed with over drive was useless if you are going to tow a lot, good for just cruising around.
The C6 was suppoes to be discontinued in 1989 and replaced by the E4OD, however the C6 was offered in fleet purchases of 50 vehicles or more for a few years after that.
And the book says the E4OD was not offered in the F150 in the early years of production.
The only other trans offered for the F150 was the AOD.
Stock ones are ok but weak compared to the C6, but upgraded ones can be rather stout I hear.
