Hey! This my first post, just joined the site. I have been a fan for months and finally got around to logging in. I cannot believe all the great tips and information I have read. Now if I can just get that money tree to grow in the back yard. My question is this: I just puchased some Rancho rs5000 shocks and the front, top shock mount stud on the truck is too large for the shock to fit over it. Can I remove the metal sleeve inside the top eye of the shock? If so, how? Thanks for the help.
Just an idea: Put a larger diameter deep socket on one side and a smaller one on the other side and put them in a vice and tighten it. That should press the sleeve out? Hope this helps.
The same thing happened to me. I went to the Rancho site and found that there are 2 models of shocks for the super duty trucks, one before 99.5 and one after. I returned the first set and ordered the second set. The only difference is the second set came without the sleeve.
