The reason the Ford V10 is smaller than the old 460 motor is the burn efficiency of the piston bore. Ford found the best bore size is the the one they are using on the v10/5.4 V8. Sure the Dodge v10 is mongo but it's NOT efficient and it's pushrod. Our V10s get 11.5 mpg because of the design. We just need some hopup parts, cams ect and a supercharger thats a little less expensive or maybe 2 more cyls - that would be cool and mongo and efficient
Heavy, not to argue with ya because I really don't know the answer but if ya look at Banks dyno charts there is gains accross the board. http://www.getpower.com/test_results_AF05.cfm I don't think I lost any low-end tq with my Borlas...
Well I know what I felt when driving, I got the low end pedal back when I added venturris. Ask around about headers, I'm sure the responses will tell you there is a low end loss. The chart may show a good value but where is the stock chart for the same truck.
(Ideally) You would want to run the exact same truck using stock gear and the BANKS gear on the same dyno to see the difference.
Do you believe all the info a manfactuer put out on their products?? The HP and TQ values they show will be different then what you ACTUALLY get.
I hate to say it those charts are NOT the actual print outs from the dyno machine. The info maybe the same but I really think it's dressed up a tad.

just get ford to throw in the new shelby cobra engine
also i dont like those charts that banks has... dont they seem way off. i mean dont these engines produce 310hp and 415ft lbs or whatever and they show much less then that even with their products added...??
Heavy, about how much are you into the mods for? I guesstimate about $2000. I'm trying to gather all of the info I can but I'm leaning toward the Whipple Charger. I don't make a lot of money but I think for the Torque per dollar of the SC will be the way to go. Just how much HP and TORQUE do you think your putting out?
am I close on the cost of headers, ypipe, TB, chip and cold air kit?
Well I got most of it cheaper then retail. So maybe not quite $2k. I want to dyno it SSSSOOOO bad. I'm hoping for over 300 RWHP 400 RWTQ. Just my guessing, I don't believe the numbers till I see them on a machine.
I try to use half what the makers claim for their product.
Now a SC would be the way if you got the cash.
If I had to build up a new truck/V10, I'd use the BANKS headers & Y-pipe, ACCUFAB tb, FIPK, and a SC. Then add a custom PCM.
Because of the Whipples programmer I had to get a new SCT chip. Apten-us.com made a custom chip that would not interfere with the programs that the Whipple has to control. I could really feel the difference after putting the chip in. I dont know if you could do that with a regular Programmer.
Skipper, have you had to do anything to your fuel pressure? Are you still running the stock fuel pump and injectors? Also how much gasoline do you go through before needing to refill the water/methanol tank?
Also there's no need for that I can see her nipples through her shirt. COLD UP NORTH.
