O2 sensor location ? 86 F 150
Glad to be of service. I have also had to try to find things that didn't show up in any manuals ... so I know it can be a PITA.

I wasn't as lucky as you to get everything out of one vehicle. I took a little bit more difficult route, because of what I am doing to my 86.
I am using everything out of the 88-93 Fox Mustangs to do my conversion. My main reason for this was so that I could install a GT-40 lower intake manifold, and then top it off with a Kenne Bell Blowzilla w/ Flowzilla intake. I went this route because there is so much more availability on aftermarket parts for the Mustang ... and because of the availabilty, the parts tend to be cheaper ... say compared to getting everything for a 94 - 95 Lightning. There are also a lot more parts that can be gotten from salvage yards if required.
Although it took me a lot longer to pull everything together, the swap itself went quite well. Also, because I was changing so much at once I did it in stages. First I installed the 351 w/ GT-40 intake and Cobra upper intake with my old Speed Density system (I left the wiring completly intact). The truck fired right up, but was running rich because I had my adjustable fuel regulator adjusted too high. After I adjusted it, the motor ran great on the 302 ECU.
Then I spent one weekend redoing my wiring harness and making the switch to MAF. I was going to just use the Mustang wiring harness, but after I pulled my harness out of my truck, I soon realized that I would be better off just modifying my own harness and adding the extra wires as required. This way I could leave all my sensors where they were, and did not have to re-route vaccum lines ... and splice back into the chassis wiring harnesses.
I am currently driving it ... but I still have a couple of sensor related bugs to work out. Although it is running pretty good, I just ran a datalogger (I have a Tweecer RT) on my ECU and realized that my MAF sensor is not outputting the correct voltage (it is way too low). I am also getting a Fuel Pump Monitor code because the Mustang computer has an additional input that comes from the Fuel Pump Relay. I have just figured out how to tie this into my wiring harness, so that I can eliminate that code too. If your wiring harness has the fuel pump relay with it, you will probably not get this error when you do your swap.
As soon as I get rid of the few error codes that I have, I am going to install the KB supercharger, 42 lb injectors, 80mm Pro-M MAF sensor, new Fuel Pump and Safeguard Knock Sensor.
All in all ... it was easy enough to do, and is definately worth doing, especially for the mods I am doing.
Boy, I sure did get wordy ... didn't I!! Sorry about that.
Good luck with the swap.

Never2Fast.... HELP US AGAIN.... If I drill and replace my broken off one... where should it connect to and what color wire would I use to make it look stock ? Thanks,
Greg
The wire you are looking for should be dark green with a purple stripe. It should come off the main wiring harness about 12 - 18" from the firewall ... and if it has not been cut off, it should be dangling down on top of the transmission bell housing somewhere. It may actually be easier to spot from under the truck (drivers side)??
If I remember correctly, it came out of the main harness right near the back of the drivers side valve cover ... and then runs across the back of the engine toward the passenger side.
Just to make sure you are looking for the right color, you can confirm by reaching under your dash and unhooking the main harness from the ECU (it comes off and goes on easily with a 10mm socket ... DISCONNECT the battery first!!). Then look at pin number 29 ... and see what color it is ... just in case Ford changed the color part way through the model year, as we all know happens from time to time. If all else fails, and you are not sure that you have the right wire ... you can use a multimeter and measure the resistance between the wire that you think is correct ... and pin # 29 in the wiring harness. If the resistance reads zero ohms ... you've got it.

Don't look for the O2 sensor in the exhaust piping ... it should have been in the stock cast iron exhaust manifold itself ... right behind the exhaust port on cylinder #4. It would not have been in the exhaust that you took off ... unless you removed the manifolds too.
Hope this helps

I could not figure out how to drill out the O2 sensor in place so I bought a new one and a new right exhaust manifold. I don't usually do things that way but this engine compartment just does not have enough room for me to work in....
I am sure I can find the wire with your description... Thanks again, Greg
Got the truck back running pretty darn nice... much better than it has the five years we have had it... but he did not install the new manifold or O2 sensor... he did look for the wire to connect it up and checked the old manifold.... and it does not have a place for an O2 sensor.... my truck was a transistion ( dec 85 ) truck ( which he says he can tell by the color of the test plug ) and did not ever have an O2 sensor according to him...
So , TexQuad, I don't know how that affects your situation.... but if you want to bring your truck to my mechanic I will give you his name... only cost me $60 for what he did and it really made a difference.....
