lights flickering
i have a 1984 f150 the lights are flickering slow at idle faster when you give it gas i have checked grounds and shorts they seem to be ok changed alt. regulater parts of the wiring harness it will stop when you turn on the fan wide open and the headlights are on and radio but everything gets dim and the wipers will barely work

Alt isn't charging and the battery is weak....idle is too low for the charge to take place all at the same time, loose ground in the charging circuit. or loose hot wire in the charging circuit....would be my guess.

the idle is ok the alt is charging fine double checked all grounds and positive cables the only thing i havent changed is the battery and amp gauge the amp gauge needle moves to the charge side with the flickering i found a battery that i can put in my truck that i know is good i am going to recheck everything you said again thanks for the help any more ideas let me know
