The way the high pressure oil system works, the individual rails each have pressure inside them, and each has to refill with pressure after each injector fires. Since there are two adjacent cylinders that fire consecutively, there is sometimes a drop in pressure from the first, that the system can't recuperate from before the second one fires. By connecting the rails via a HPX line, the pressure from the other rail helps build pressure in the one with the consecutively firing cylinders.
The advantage? It's one of the things that makes the truck run a little smoother. Huge hp increase? No. Simply another refinement that makes the truck run better overall.
Actually, I don't think it's cylinders 4 and 6 that are connected, since they're both on the same bank. I think it's 5 and 6, though it doesn't really matter, as long as the line connects the two rails going down each bank of cylinders.

I've got one, and I give it credit for being one of the things that helps make mine run so much smoother than when it was stock. Plus, it's really cheap, only about $40, if I recall.
I'll try to give Dale a call tomorrow. It looked simple enough to install. Going to have the pyro bushing welded on tomorrow. Got the restriction indicator from UPS today so I guess it'll go on tomorrow also. Thanks.

Hey Quad, I ordered the HPX kit from Dale. Got a package from him today. One problem, I think there was a mix up. I got a shift kit instead. I'm going to send it back in the morning and I'm sure it'll be straightened out. We had a good talk and he explained everything about the kit to me and said it was pretty simple to install. He had alot of good things to say about you too. Might want to give him a call and give a heads up. Bubba
Don't lose Dale's number. My guess is you'll be wanting to buy more stuff from him as time goes by. If you get the chance to meet him face to face, you'll profit from the experience.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll be in touch with him.
Scott.
Quad they called today and shipped out the part. I told them I did the same. Spoke with a gal there and she was really nice. Said that she would send a Tymar T-Shirt along with it. Web site will soon be up too. Nice folks. Heat thanks for the data. I'll be checking that out tonight. Thanks fellas.
