I am a UPS driver. We are not slower than fed ex. If you tracked you pkg you will know if it was shipped when they said it was. If it did'nt arrive on time the shipping is free with UPS.
I'll bet your shipper is at fault. I'll do better than that. I know your shipper is at fault.
Besides that your not supposed to hate anything. My mother always said.

No offense to you UPS man. I like UPS better than FedEx. We still use UPS a lot, in fact, we even invited our UPS man to our company Christams party. He personally is a very reliable guy. He gives excellent service, can't say enough good about him. However, costs being critical, profit margins shrinking a bit, we found Airborne/DHL to be our best route. We don't know the drivers on a first name basis and we don't invite them for company functions. However, we find them to be roughly 12% less expensive (on average), at least one day faster than anyone else (their ground to anywhere in the contiguous US is 3 days). Also, we like the satellite tracking of shipments, the actual signature of the recipients for our files and the fact that no matter what materials you need for shipping, in whatever quantity you need, they have it at your door in usually less than 24 hours... absolutely free. We too tried them (A/DHL) on a trial basis. We have been quite impressed, up to this point.

I use UPS here at home and the shop I worked at we used, had no problems whatsoever.
My friend that lives not far away in Kirby, TX has had problems, I think it's the delivery man or whoever is in charge at the hub for that area, but most of his stuff was partly damaged and the boxes looked like crap. I remember one time he bought a comp. from someyone and it was shipped ups, the box came with part of the comp. hanging out threw a ripped and beat up box, that was also partly wet. He bought the comp. from an old friend that sent a pic of the box before he shipped it off.
He uses fedex now.

I made the mistake of ordering something from them once also. several years ago I ordered a car cover from them so I can store my car in the winter & not worry to much about the snow. Hell, when it finally came a month later there was 6" of snow on the car already.

I rely on FedEx to deliver priority letters over night. UPS is o.k. on packages. Both companies have there quirks.

We get a heckuva price break with FedEx ~40% off.

That must be beause those particular drivers don't know where they are going. Both companies will run your *** into a ditch around here and won't even give you as much as a "pardon me all to hell."

The one thing I dislike the most about working for UPS. When I have a damaged box to deliver I always make a note that the pkg was damaged so the costumer is covered.
I am sure all shipping Co. have the same problem. Young people working from 10pm til 6am dont have the best work ethics. Plan and simple some people just dont care. They will load a heavy box on top of a light box stick it on a 18 wheeler. By the time it arrives it's a mess.
I have seen people put 70lbs of stuff in a toliet tissue box. Now that's not to smart.
I am sorry you had a bad time with UPS. I for one take pride in my work and know the only way to keep it, is to take care of the costumer.

Pops_91710 apparently you thought this post was "worth all the verbiage", what with posting FOUR times under it

Nice description on the Diablo chip install, good pictures.

Funny I bought a photographic lens from someplace in Russia a few months back. Took exactly 5 days to get to me from the time I orderd, UPS seemed to do a pretty good job on that one. Only time I have ever had a problem was a cam I ordered from Comp Cams, it somehow ended up someplace up north supposedly snowed in. Funny thing though I yelled a bit and they had it on my door step at 0730 the next morning. That was about 3 years ago.

I sure don't have any problems with UPS or FEDEX for that matter either.

Later Larry

I ALWAYS take the best care of packages that I handle. Please don't generalize, at FedEx there is always a manager on the dock, and if they hear a box crash, you are fired, no questions asked. I am responsible for that package fromt he time it gets off one truck until its on another truck with the door closed and the driver on his way. We do not have time to break stuff and steal. If you have ever seen a FedEx hub you will see that they are secure and you can't just walk out with a package.

FedEx and UPS have been just fine for me, they both seem to do just as good as work. I havn't had any problems with either of them.

The US Postal service is what I cannot stand.

Should have said some people dont have the best work ethics. We to have a tell on system. I caught a guy dropping pkgs on a high value pkg just for laughs. He lost his job that night.
I delivered a pkg to the post office the other day. The supervisor there said I can't believe someone would pay all that shipping freight to ship UPS. I replied when you have to make a PROFIT you charge more.
