Unhappy Cold Sores

I got a cold sore. It sucks. Anyone know a good way to get rid of it quicker. I am using Carmex for the moment. Don't know if it's workin good or not.

Be careful taking large amounts of niacin. It has bizarre effects on some people. It made me itch, swell and turn red. Turns out that I can't handle too much at a time due to an allergic reaction. It makes most people's face get flush right after taking it.

You have to get this stuff from a Doctor:
Triamnciolone Acetonide dental paste 0.1%
NDC 51672-1267-5 6505-00-928-8913
Comes in a 5g tube and is powerful stuff for any internal mouth sore or lips. It only takes a couple of applications of tiny amounts at night with a Q-tip. It is like glue and sticks to everything.

I found some "flush free" niacin that proposes not to have that effect on your face. Not sure about the itching and swelling.

like the common cold, I think that cold sores just have to run their course, don't they?

go to the drug store and go to the vitamin section, get a bottle of vitamin E gel tabs, crack one open with your teeth and squeeze out the juice onto a clean finger. keep appling that..........it keeps it moist, and heals it real quick.

That stuff I use will clear them up in a day so they don't hurt and will heal them with two applications. It works great for when you slip with the tooth brush and gouge yourself or bite your lip, cheek, or tongue.

...L-lysine, Vit E, B- Complex and Garlic tabs are all anti-viral and will help (also helps with common cold)....prescription Acyclovir (generic Valtrex) will kick it also...
.....if taking Niacin, beware the "flush", small dosages only
