Vibration
Truck has Moan/Drone/low frequency vibrations at idle and between 1500-2100RPM. My legs continue to quiver for a period of time after I exit the Truck because of these vibrations.
The General Manager and Service Manager called Ford’s tech hot line and were informed that Ford was aware of this problem as outline in Broadcast Message 0405 and went on to say that some drivers feet
were being put to sleep by these vibrations.
Ford also stated that the addition of three more fins to the Turbo
Blade and a new Turbo mount that they had installed on all new
6.0L engines beginning the 1st of October 2003 had failed to eliminate
this problem. Ford‘s Tech also said not to do anything to my truck
for two week because they could possible have a solution for the
problem at that time.
I purchased the truck on October 14 2003.
The engine has a build date of 7/25/2003. My VIN is 1FTWW32P14EA20805 Can anyone tell me what RC# I have?

16884 2003 SUPER DUTY F-SERIES, EXCURSION 6.0L - MOAN/DRONE BETWEEN 1500-2000 RPM
SOME 2003 EXCURSION AND SUPER DUTY F-SERIES EQUIPPED WITH A 6.0L DIT MAY EXHIBIT A MOAN/DRONE NOISE AND TACTILE VIBRATION BETWEEN 1500-2000 RPM DUE TO TURBOCHARGER MOUNTING COMPONENTS RESONATING AT THE ENGINE FIRING FREQUENCY. ENGINEERING IS INVESTIGATING POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS. THERE IS NO SERVICE PROCEDURE AVAILABLE FOR THIS CONDITION AT THIS TIME. NO SERVICE ACTION SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED.
-- Press and hold dash odometer button in, then turn key from off
to on. Continue to hold button while all odometer display segments
light up, then mileage shows up...then release it when the display
says "teSt".
-- Each press of the button steps through the following readings.
Values shown are with truck in park and engine off; where known,
notes describe different possibilities for readings.
GAGE - all gauge needles sweep to full range, then sweep back to low
range, then go back to current readings.
******* - all display segments on
buLb - all dash bulbs illuminated

dtC - display alternates between "dtC" and number(s). Diagnostic
9201 Trouble Code. (9201 is fuel sender circuit failure!)
EnG 000 - ENG(lish) units for speed - MPH
riC 000 - (met)RIC units for speed - kM/H
tAC0000 - Tachometer - reads 625 or so when idling, but highly erratic
within a range of a few RPMs. The dash tach and AIC tach sure
do stabilize these readings before showing them to you!
F 252 - Fuel sender reading. 255 is max value, presumably 0 is min.
FP 077 - Fuel pressure? Reads steady 115 with engine idling. 171 later.
