Acutally, it is my understanding that International has had this engine out for 5-6 years, and it is working great with none of the problems ford is having. Ford on the other hand chose to go with this new engine, and never bothered to make sure the electronics were compatible between the engine (international) and the ford computer.
I hold Ford completely accoutable for this mess. Their rush to production has resulted in inumerable headaches for the consumers (us).

International has only had this engine as long as Ford has had them. I am not seeing the amount of electronic problems that you Ford guys are. However i have seen a couple engine troubles all were in the 1st few months they were out. Seems like from my side (International) that they have worked out most of the kinks.
Tim,
congratulations on becoming a moderator. I am relatively new to this site but try to read as much as possible. If one reads too little, they may become paranoid. I have enjoyed your thoughts and insights to many a matter and appreciate your well balanced, even-handed approach to questions and discussions.
Great job!
I have a question regarding the 6.0. I have noticed a black powder like substance clinging to anything in the line of fire of the exhaust pipe. Its marked its territory from the beginning. Is this normal for diesels and the 6.0(this is my first)?

Thank you for the kind words we all are going to go to new heights.
In addition, yes these things, if you let them idle a bunch will leave some soot
Yes, I have to agree this is a wonderful forum. It is very helpful to the working man that has just spent 35,000 to 50,000 on a diesel work horse. I hope ford gets these issue's with the 6.0 worked out and i am sure they will....
I just started having probs with my 6.0 and look forward to new post to see if others are experiencing the same.
Gosh Tim, you told me once before you didn't have a life. You must really have an understanding wife, if you are married. Good luck in your new position.

Are you seeing the issues with the C94 and C95 injectors as Ford is seeing?

I think you hit it on the head........no wife! No life!
Well.....on the othr hand maybe.............
By the way, since we have not chatted in a bit, I love the oil-guard and the Mobile Delvac.
The truck is a different animal, idles smother, starts easier…incredable.
Changed it at 3k miles and did the oil sample on the Ford oil so now I am off to happy motoring with great oil.
Thanks for the many explanation…….and your patience

No Injectors that ive seen or noticed in an International. The biggest problems that ive seen was on 2 different engines. One was a valve lever(rocker) came apart and the other was the valve bridge broke in half. Other than the EGR recalls, only basic maintenance.

Does international use the split shot injection? Funny, if they do, pehaps they are driving the injectors with to long a stroke. But you would think that more of these guys running the boxes would be having bigger problems.
Tim,
Where has EMTabmm been, or did he fall prey to the big blue oval, just as one of our old friends did? Hope not. Hope he just took vacation or something.
