I have a 2002 F-250, I like to leave the doors open, and keys in while playing the radio, or just working nearby truck, is there a simple way to disable that stupid alarm if the keys are in the ignition, and the doors are open ? The headlight and seat belt alarms are tolerable, but is it "all-or-none" ?
At my work we have a several F550's. And I know what you mean about that stupid annoying bell just dinging away.
I have found that if you trip/close the latch mechanism the bell will stop. Just be sure to remember to operate the inside door handle before trying to close the door!
Yikes,,,,,,,,, I would forget to unlatch the door latch,, that would make me cuss even more,, at least I know there are at least two of us bugged by this,,, I suppose that dinger is way up in the dash so us guys with side cutters can't "nip" any wires, grrrrrrrr ! maybe someone has found a quick fix for this,
I sent a note to my brother-in-law, he has a buddy that works in a Ford Truck garage,,,I will poast any info here, if I get any.
but ya' know what, then I would tear the place apart when I needed the Crescent wrench, 'cause I could not remember where I put it
There must be a top secret wire somewhere to "snip". I will even sign a waiver so I can not sue FoMoCo. It is no different than disableing that stupid kill switch on the lawn mower, that kills motor when you put it in reverse,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not that I did that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I haven't tried this yet because my truck hasn't come in but I heard that there is a wire underneath you r drivers seat coming from the floor. Unplug it and the bell should be gone. If it works please post back so I know how it turns out. Hope this helps.
