I just installed ebay headers and they are fine. I have lots of top end power no more topend surge. The down side is it either has the same or less low end . Need to pick up low end. My only mods are my own cold air box and headers. What next y-pipe and where to get one. Muffler and whitch one . I pull about 5000 # race car and trailer. I know that its not alot but always need more power. I know you guys can help. I know about the 40 series flowmaster. But open to other sugestions. and what is the deal with the y-pipe and where to get one. I m sorry i have a 2000 F250 V-10 CC/SB with 80000.miles on it. Thank you for your help
I Would get a Superchip tuner next, this is something you will feel.Go to a muffler shop and let them make you a y-pipe and get a nice 3" MagnaFlow muffler.
When you get a muffler shop to make a y pipe do they make it like a regular ypipe or is there a certin place to connect the y. I want to pick up some low end. I pull the trailer around 2000 rpm or about 70-75 mph. Above 3000 rpm this thing just screams. I like the magnaflow. You like the Superchip what are the avantages. Power vs 93 octane. This is my daily driver. I want the cake and eat it too. I want low sound plenty of power and ability to walk away form a stock 6.0. lol lol
If you look at the stock y-pipe you will see 2 180 degree bends.Just have one made that will merge the two together better, without the bends.I love the Superchip tuner, better than a chip in my opinion because of the options, also is a scanner for any codes. If you install the engine tuning you will need 91-93 octane. You will not be sorry, trust me.I ordered mine from the online store here.It will raise the speed limiter if you choose and firm up the shifts,no more drawn out shifts. This alone makes the truck faster.
adrgracer, I have noticed with past engine hop ups that when you gain top end it seems like you loose bottom end when in fact you haven't lost any thing it's just that on the top end you feel better response and that makes the bottem end seem more slugish. The over head cam V-10 loves to rev and 3000 RPM won't hurt a thing. Ovevdrive is not for hard pulls. That is why Ford put the little button on the end of the gear shift lever that locks out overdrive. I pull a 8000# toy hauler about 4000 miles a year in the North West where if your not going down hill your going up one. I have gotten 1-2 miles per gallon better in third with OD locked out than in OD letting it shift on it's own. Not to mention your Trans. and lock up converter will thank you for it.
