cats a required to be on there on vehicles that they were oe for, but past a certain era, its just a visual inspection. you can always replace thos restrictive cats with a high-flow, provided the old ones were "damaged."

I'll be in this week getting an inspection and see if any thing has changed since last year. I know the state has cracked down the so much last couple of years on regulation compliance that many smaller shops stop doing them. Used to be $20 would pass anything some times without a vehicle even being there.

Generally, mechanics perform a "safety" inspection on your car and check most of the things everyone else has mentioned. Depending on the year of the car you can usually register it for more than one year. Good luck.
