china trash

I just turn off the tv because 60 min's was interviewing some indian (india) about the american jobs that were going to india/china.
Look, china trash is no good because I end up throwing most of the stuff away after a few months because of breakage and it's not worth the repair charges.
I no the bottom line is it's cheaper for american corporations to have their products made in another country so they can sell it cheaper to the consumer but if it's worthless stuff......
If these jobs and TECHINICAL jobs go over seas then what are we going to do in the NEAR FUTURE? These things may be cheaper to buy but what will I use to buy things with if I don't have a job?
The government I think wants these other countries to try to "CATCH UP" with us but mean while we may suffer some serious job cuts. WHAT ARE PEOPLE GOING TO DO?
P.S. I need a good portable radio/boombox but I will not buy it because IT'S MADE IN CHINA......and I know what that means.

I do not see a real pretty picture of things to happen in the future.

A very complex issue indeed. And as our middle class rapidly disappears, we seek to find answers for it.
Over the years as our values and expectations of products have declined, our recreational desires have esculated. Not that many years ago a man worked 60-70 hours a week to support his family modestly. Now it takes both husband and wife each working 30-40 hours a week to support the standard which has been raised considerably. We did have a couple decades of fluxation where jobs were plenty and wages were high compared to the cost of living and now that is the standard to which we measure everything else.
No one is more disgusted with cheap disposable foreign crap than I am. I have tried to buy American whenever possible but it grows increasingly difficult. I mean I have to wear shoes and even Red Wing manufactures its tennys in China now. A couple years ago I wanted a new briefcase and shopped for weeks to find one that wasn't made in China. I finally found a good used one at a garage sale, but could not find a single one in any store. I don't know where it will go but at the currant rate of defecting manufacturers, it is an alarming situation to us all and our government seems all too quiet about the whole thing. Of course big business has control of the purse strings pretty much and as long as they are making the bucks we will continue to be a voice in the wilderness.
Unions are another factor. While I don't totally disagree with the concept, they have choked the life out of a lot of industry here. Whole towns of Union workers are unemployed because the high cost of labor drove out the main employer. I see an adjustment needed there too. What good are a union's demands on the employer if there are no employers left. The scale needs balancing.
Also maybe we need to look at what some of the successful immigrents are doing. How is it they can come here and prosper while our living standard decreases?
Just a few things to ponder and in now way the end of the list.

Same here, I don't buy it unless it is critical for me to have it.

Redwings are made in America only and when they go to China I will sue thier *** for false advertisement. As far as buying Chinese stuff. As long as it is not tools or stuff that is important for me to keep I will buy it. Chinese tools are a POC and should be outlawed. Most electrical is made of there and the funny thing is their own population can not afford the stuff.

It seems to me that this is exactly what is happening with the outsourcing of jobs elsewhere.
