dashboard squeak

well i must have got lucky, i have a 2001 expy 4.6. What i don't have are any complaints about the engine, i also don't have a problem with brake dust. What i DO have is a squeak in the dash in front of the steering wheel that is slowly but surely driving me over the edge. It sounds like it is up near the windshield, i've pushing and pressing on things as i go down the road to try and see what is causing it or at least narrow it down but nothing that i can reach while driving has any effect. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas what the likely cause may be.

If it's still under warranty take it in, other wise the only thing I can think of is taking off the dash cover and slowly narrowing down the area, then securing it somehow.

My 03 expy pas side airbag was the nasty squeak. Try putting pressure on the cover.

There's so much plastic and wiring up there it could be many things. Try sticking a hand up from underneath and play with the wiring harnesses to see if this helps. On a previous vehicle I stuffed an old tee shirt up between the wires to keep them from rubbing/squeaking.
