Naw where I live we dont get bothered for anything no sniffers or nothin plus the local cops seem to like me they dont even get nuts about noise or anything unless your just askin for it stuff like that.
the best years would be the pre 73's before all the emission crap was put on, i would say ant one in the 60's would be a good one to build up, i have a 73 390, but it has no emissions on it at all because it has 63 heads and 4 barrell intake on it, there wasnt much difference in the blocks after 73 just the manifolds, and other odd things.
Take your pick, if you're gonna rebuild it before the swap. they're all good, The majority of 68-76 motors all have the same C8AE-H or the identical D2TE heads. Blocks are pot luck, there's some good and some so-so ones, but all will bore to at least 30 over. You will need a rear sump oilpan to fit the 95 F150. The only factory ones came on the mid 70's 4x4's. Aftermarket ones are available but very expensive. Headers will most likely have to be a shorty design to fit without mods.
