I have what i call a "flexplate"
Atleast that's what I call it
Its the piece of metal that bolts between the motor and the tranny
What is this called?
I looked on ebay and for flexplates they have up Flywheels
Am I confused on the name of it?
Flywheels are for manuals, your clutch assembly bolts to it.
Flexplates are like flywheels, with the exception that they are for automatics. Your torque converter bolts to it.
If you're refering to the plate that is between the flywheel or flexplate and the block, I'm not sure what the correct name for that plate is, but in my Chilton's book it refers to it as a "cover plate".
I've always called them flywheels whether they were Standard or Automatics... thats what the start turns to start it
I need to know what the plate is.
Its basically a spacer... any ideas anyone?
Automatics use flexplates, manual trasnmissions use flywheels. The plate between the block and transmission is called a block plate, it's main function is to index the starter and to cover the flexplate on automatics
I wouldn't advise listing that you want to sell them
But I was just wondering, because Im trying to get rid of a few myself to a guy down the road, but he keeps saying they aren't flexplates. lol
Thanks again
