no i dont have any pocket protectors, i got into watercooling because my heatsink fan was too loud and i couldnt afford a liquid nitro, a TEC/watercooled , or a refrigerated system. it also sparks a conversation, that and i built the 1.8 and 1.7GHz systems. as soon as i get some money im gonna mount all the components above the case in a plexi-glass enclosure with a cold cathode light.

Those do look cool.

I leave everything on including the moniter which goes to sleep after about 10 minutes or so. I restart every so often to clear things and run regular spyware.

My computer rarely gets shut off. About the only time is when I go somewhere, like when we went to Texas during Christmas. When I went to school every morning and went straight to work every day I would turn it off just in case of severe weather. But now that I am home most nights, it rarely gets shut down except during severe weather.

I've got a cool looking case, a black one with a window and red cold cathode light, I'll try to get some pics on a site, and post a link if anyone cares.

I leave all my machines on 24/7. My server hasn't been shut down in at least 6 months. Same goes for the sun workstation. The firewall and other networking hardware has been running for at least a year. The only thing that occasionally is turned off is my PC.

A cold cathode light is a light that runs cooler than a standard neon light. They are usually used in computer cases, and for some cars.

mine is always on, i am too busy downloading movies and programs that i dont want to turn it off, alhough when i am playing games like call of duty or halo, i do a reboot when i am dont playing, i run my games at 1600x1200 and although i got a high end 19in NEC monitor, i like to give the monitor a restart to realign everything when i am done.

FWIW, all the technogeeks say leave it on so you're not constantly heating/cooling the processor (may lead to breakage).

I think it's bunk, but it does make sense.

That said, I leave mine on 24/7. It's convenient.

My pc's all use less energy when on than when off.... Set the monitor to sleep after 5 minutes and the drives to sleep in 20...

I have 10 computers running 24/7 running Seti at Home. I turn the monitors off but never the computers. I re-boot tham all about once a week to clear all the caches.
