[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Sep-02 AT 12:07 PM (EST)]Well, typical as my life is, I get one thing to work and something else goes wrong.
Backing out this morning, whacked my mirror on the side of my house.
Looked, mirror was fine but out of adjustment.
Rolled down the passenger window and as soon as I touched it, the glass part, fell and you know what happened.:-X23
Does anybody have the top (large) glass mirror part for the tow mirror or know where I can get a repalcement mirror, not the whole assembly, just the glass mirror.
If it has a plastic "basket" around the glass and it is OK then you could go to a glass shop and have them cut you a new one. Now I am sure you probably thought of that but thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth.
YETI, here's your Ford P/N F81Z17K707BA. Dealer list is around $30.00, but if you're in tight with your parts guy, it can be had for around $23.00. Yes, it is the glass only. Hope this helps.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Sep-02 AT 06:40 PM (EST)]So I have my buddy get me the mirror I needed and guess what?>?>
Totaly different from the mirrors I bought from Genuine Ford Parts.com
I guess they sell not so Genuine Ford Parts.:-X23
When I got them I did'nt even look if it said fomco on them anywhere, from the outside they are identical to the mirrors on my 99 f350, but the way the mirror mounts to the "mirror holder" is totaly different.
My options now, are to have a glass shop cut me a piece as CB said or buy it now for a complete mirror on Evilbay for $75 clams.
I pis...es me off about "GENUINE"
Oh well, like I said, one thing goes right 10 go wrong!!:-X23
You might want to check with the glass shop you are planning on using - they probably cannot cut you a convex mirror for the right side, it would be a flat mirror and not give you the "objects are closer than they appear" wide view for the right side.
I bought one for my last pickup in a junkyard - check salvage yards in your area.
Replacement glass (glass only) is being produced, just can't find it anywhere.
Glass shop cut me one for $10.00, should of got a couple just incase
Top is flat not convex
