For the last three hours ive been heating the engine compartment with a space heater right ontop of the fuel bowl. And still no succes. Does anyone know if I have a fuel pump on the frame somewhere. And if so is there a way to test it?

Mine is a 99, but there is an electronic pump that sits on the inside of the frame about where the bed and cab meet, mine looks like a little inline filter but has a couple of electrical connections.

Also, don't know if possible, try to find a garage you can put it in for a while, that might work a little better than the tarps. Wouldn't be as cold for you either.

Well I just took the heater of the engine now. Its been on there for about 6 hours. The regulator was very hot. Still nothing. I think tomorrow I need to go buy a tarp big enough to cover a crew cab and blast the 150,000 btu heater all day. Ive been using small tarps that I attached to the side of the truck. I think I was losing too much heat through the bed and wheels.
I miss the sound of a diesel purring...

So I'm sitting here watching the Pats/Titans game and dang does it look cold up there. No wonder you're having so much trouble getting her thawed. Don't worry, it's only a couple months till spring.

Get a BIG tarp, and stake it to the ground all the way around. If it dosen't thaw out after a day in a heat tent I'd start worring about a fuel pump.

Would low batteries cause the fuel pump not to operate?

Alright, I think I can scratch off gelled fuel. Today I completly covered my truck and had the temperture at 110 for a solid six hours. Still no fuel to the bowl. Whats next? Fuel Pump. Should I replace the one on the frame?

Turns out I dont have a fuel pump on the frame. What I thought was one was the switch for the two tanks. Which checked out ok. I also replaced the fuel pump relay and still nothing. Is there a way to find the problem here. I.E. test pumps?

It would bit a bit of a coincidence that the pump failed at the first big cold snap, but stranger things have happened.

You should get 12v. at the pump when the key is cycled on. It's easier to catch if some one can turn the key for you, only stays hot about 20 seconds.

Where should I be testing. Is the connection above the tank?
