I think he is wanting to pull the entire pump, not just the seal.
There is a speical tool, a puller that clamps onto the pump stator (the hollow splined shaft) and a center threaded rod that pushes on the input shaft and pulls the pump out of the case. The pump's o-ring is what is holding it in place.
Do not try to pry it out or you will damage the pump and/or case.
I just went to home depot and got 2 10mm X 1 1/2" bolts and welded them to 2, 24" rods. Slide a 2" pipe with washers welded to the pipe ends over the rods. Home made pump puller. Cost $2.90. Screw the rods into the proper holes and tap out the pump.
