The console for the 40/20/40 split bench has several features built into it. What are they? For reference (see pic below) I will call them UFO #1-#4 (Unidentified Feature Object). How do you use these features??? I just want to be sure I'm getting the most out of my $30K.:-)
well the notch is for a power cord for your cell phone to charge in the console, one of the pockets I use for holding my calculator to compute mileage. as for the others I have no idea.
UFO #1: Since "they" state that the console can house a laptop, this would be a place for a power cord.
UFO #2: I assume this one is made for maps since my maps *almost* fit there.
UFO #3: Business card holder.
UFO #4: Small tissue pack holder. Some fit better than others.
It annoyed me that no where in the owner's manual or in any literature I looked at that these things weren't addressed. While I can easily find a use for them, I still like to know the intented use according to the designer on anything I buy (so I know how to alter it later)

That is exactly why I started this one! I can find a lot of things that "almost" fit these spots, but just wondered how they were supposed to be used. I think the owners manual says something about a pencil holder but doesn't explain.
I almost would say the notch (UFO #1) is for a power cord, but then all the power sources are closer to the right side of the vehicle and the notch is on the left. Maybe UFO #1 is to allow enough air into the console so that a small pet would not suffocate... um... nevermind.

I thought the same thing, but couldn't come up with another use. Also, most laptops have the power plug in the back which makes this orientation difficult as well.
I might have figured out the real use of UFO #3. I wnt through a drive thru for lunch today and thought I would try out the coin tray, and I a a dollar bill and thought hummmmmmmmmm. Folded it in half and slipped it it MONEY CLIP!
Alright, I got one! Underneath the in dash cup holder and power port, what is the "upside down hook" molded into the dash where you might think the ash tray might go? I con't figure this one out. It can't be a hook to hang anything on because it is upside down. I'm lost on this one.......also, the UFO'S uncovered were very helpful....one less thing I have to "wonder" about with my new PSD S/D.

Well, my hook is right side up and I think it is for a litter bag. I have heard of at least one guy on this site that hangs his phone there while it charges. Yours must have been installed upside down. If that is all the guy did as a prank on his last day in the factory (after 30+ years, no doubt)... your lucky!
