Has anyone installed the Ford splash guards? Are they molded like those for the sport trac? Do they keep mud from slinging on the step bars? What colors do they come in?--thanks
As Henry Ford would say they come in every color as long as you want black. Which is perfect for me since my Screw is black and tan. They are molded and look real nice. As for keeping the mud off of the step bars, I can't answer since I installed them last week and our roads have been snow covered since then.
Black will work for me. I see you live in W NY. I used to live in West Valley, a small town in Cattaraugus Co. Got out back in '81 and moved to GA. I don't miss the long winters.--Jack
I just installed them on my truck this past weekend and love them. I've got 1500 miles on my truck and noticed a couple rock dings in the paint on the underside of the truck just behind the front wheels...The damage should stop now that these are on.
When installing them I noticed that one hole on each of the rear guards didn't line up correctly with the bolt holes in the sheet metal - it was about 1/2" off. I opted to drill a new hole in the splash guard instead of punching a new hole in the sheet metal - I didn't want to create a place for rust to start.
I'm glad I installed them myself because my dealer would have probably just drilled through the metal.

West Valley- does everyone still "glow in the dark" there? Only Western New Yorkers would understand that!
Do you have a link to the mud flaps or maybe a part # to check out for pricing and fit? I have been looking for molded flaps for my F-150 but I haven't had much luck. Thanks.
I threw up a few pics in my gallery that show them up close. Please excuse the decorative road salt.
These were taken in my garage with the flash...I'll try to get a better full-truck shot in the day light. You can't see it, but the rear ones have the Ford logo molded on them - kind of a nice touch and an excuse for Ford to charge a bit more.
I bought mine from the dealership parts guy for $65 for the set. They have different ones for styleside/flareside and it matters if you've got the molded wheel lip (Lariat & Fx4) and running boards.
I think they fit nicely...there is a tiny gap (you can't even see it unless you bend over and stare at it) between the molded wheel lip and the plastic of the guard. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but I like it because it'll keep the guard from rubbing the paint down to the metal allowing for a good place for rust to start.
