Discrimination.if he gets a good lawyer he may be able to buy his own club. This man should have been treated as a V.I.P.you would think a club like that would treat him as a hero which hs most certainly is.
If the story's true, let's hope everyone in Iowa boycotts the club. Since the article mentions that this club has had to pay fines in the past for mistreating other customers, it doesn't help their case much. Perhaps the vet will be able to buy THIS club, right after it goes out of business!
Well I would think he would just blow it off. Who would want to go in that snooty rat hole anyway. And besides it is a bar fer chrisake, it isn't like he couldn't get into the dam corthouse or something. Who NEEDS to go into a bar? I don't mean to sound cold to someone who made such a sacrifice to serve in the military. I salute the man, but whining about something like this just demeans himself. Sue over it? Then you are just lowering yourself to the same kind of sleaze as the club owner.
I work in construction doing concrete work and if you look at it on a per capita basis we spent thousands of times more to make everything as convienint as possible for each handicapped person that will use a facility as we do for the non-handicapped. If you figured out how many handicapped people would use the facilty in its service life and divided that into the extra cost of making it accessable then took that number and multiplied it by all the people that would use it in the same period, we wouldn't be able to afford to build anything new. I don't have a problem with the ADA but I am just pointing out that as a society we do go to great lengths for handi-capped people. It would take a scholar to decipher the ADA manual, it is as thick as a Queens phone book.
If there is an a-hole here and there it isn't like some big overwhelming barricade to these good folks.
