Eletric Gauge on start up...
I bought an '03 exlporer, the no frills one (no third row, etc...). i noticed that when I turn the thing on, the mileage gauge lights up with all the numbers lit up, and there is everything else lit up too. I don't know what it is, but I know that it is something extra that I dont have, like maybe an outside temp gauge or telling me what direction i am heading. Question is, can I order a part and get those things working? its looks like everything works but I just dont have the parts to make it work, know what I mean? Thanks!

If yours didn't have the compass from the factory, the part that senses your direction is in the RV mirror from what I understand. I thought they all had this feature, but maybe I'm wrong. If you search there's a procedure to calibrate it. If you don't have the equipment for the compass it's going to be pretty obvious if you follow the calibration steps!

Thats what itmust be then, Cause my mirror looks like any other mirror, its just the thin thing with no buttons or anything like that. Thanks for answering my post, Its been like 2 weeks and your the only one that replied!

compass and temp gage
Hi, I just posted yesterday after doing a search about the same thing. I don't care much about th compass because it isalittle more involved, but I would like the Outside Temperature feature enabled. Keep me posted if you should find out!!
