:7 I am so excited! Tomorrow, I getting Edlebrock IAS Monotube shocks put on my truck! AND, oh boy, oh boy.... I am making an appointment to have a Rhino Linings spray in bed liner put in! I am so excited! I had to share with you guys! We women get just as excited about our trucks are you guys do! Thanks for listening!
Congratulations!!!!!! We share in your excitement. Pls do us a favor. Run your new shocks for a while then let us know what the differences are, how ya like 'em, how they ride, etc. Glad you're enjoying your trk
Yes, please let us know. I have a 2002 PSD 4X4, CC, stock. I use it mostly for long distance driving, unloaded 75 MPH, on the freeway between Alabama and Texas. There is a 100 mile stretch on I-10W that is rough. The spacing between the ruts is just right to shake a cup of coffee into your lap. I was thinking that maybe changing the factory shocks would help. Other than that the truck runs smooth. It is a pleasure to drive. I love to get up early and drive through Mississippi when the sun comes up, engine sounds, big boy toys. Anybody else replaced the factory shocks on a PSD 4X4 and got a smoother road ride?
You might want to consider the Rancho RS9000s with the incab control. I have them on my 99 F350 Crewcab 2WD. For around town I can set the ride on soft (setting 1). For highway I firm the shocks up a little (setting 2). If there is a stretch of rough highway I can soften the ride (back to 1).
Towing a trailer I set the shocks firmer (setting 3+).
I don't know about 4x4ing settings. Perhaps someone else can help.
Installation of the incab control is a pain though, took me a full day to do.
I LOVE my Edlebrocks!!! They are awesome! They are even more incredible off road! Too sweet. I will be driving across the country shortly, and will update you again. Smooth ride, better handling, and seem to help with the braking too. They make mine meat out of rough road! We have some seriously rough roads due to detours etc, and because of the fires that we have had here in SD.
I drove a little bit under 2000 miles (From Rapid City, SD to Cape Cod, MA.) These shocks are incredible! I can't be the handling of my truck. If you get them, you WILL love them!
Thanks for the info Please keep us posted after they're broken in well. So far it seems everyone really likes these shocks. Good info that helps everybody out on future purchases.
