What is the best way to add a deep sound and a little more power to the muffler is it a flowmaster? and will this void the warranty? also does anyone know where to get those chrome door handles and tailgate handle i seen it on 1 f150 04 before.
thanks. do you know the type of flowmaster you recommend and the price. i want a good deep sound but nothing outrageous or off road sounding. plus a few extra horses.
I put the Flowmaster Big Block II, 70 Series muffler on my 2004 F-150......and from what you said you are looking for, it should be "just what the doctor ordered" for your truck. It is a SINGLE muffler with a 3.0" centered inlet and it has (2) 2.5" outlets.
The Flowmaster Part # for this muffler is 530702.
I ordered mine For $104.99 from JEG'S High Performance at (800) 545-4545....or you can order it from them on line at www.jegs.com
thanks for the info. this is my first truck and i love it only had it for about two weeks. but i want to get a little more power and a good growl to it. thanks
MetalSludge is correct.......you can save a BIG, WHOPPING $0.60 by ordering the above referenced Flowmaster Big Block II, 70 Series muffler from Summit Racing.....
Summit Racing's price is $104.39 vs. the $104.99 I paid at JEG'S!!
Everything I ever ordered from JEGS they charged an arm and a leg and sometimes rights to your first born. Glad to hear they are catching up with other people cause they got some nice stuff I would like but was always turned off by there previous shipping costs.
The Flowmaster 40 Series Steet/Strip muffler is a LOT louder and has a higher pitched rapping, cracking sound vs. the 70 Series Big Block II muffler I installed, which has a much more subdued, deeper, mellow sound. It sounds like a HEAVILY muffled NASCAR Winston Cup Car engine.
FYI.....I had my local MIDAS shop cut and bend (2) 2.5" tail pipes for the dual muffler outlets.....and had him weld to them, (2) 18" long x 3" diameter polished 304 stainles steel, slant tip tailpipes.....exiting out the right side of the truck, centered between the rear door and rear wheel wheel.
Not only does it sound GREAT.....it looks GREAT.....AND.....I picked up about 1.3 ADDITIONAL MPG.....
I have had many complements from lots of DIFFERENT people!!
I love that old 40series sound. I have had it on every vehicle I have ever owned but I am not sure if I want that loud of noise on this new truck when cruising and Idiling but when I get on it want the people to know and get the rumble when you let off.
