Flowmaster??
And when you let off the gas from highway speeds.....you will hear just a little rumble....but if you want to hear a LOT of rumble and even some muffled "backfiring", just pull her down into 2nd gear.....
SORRY.....I don't have any sound clips of my exhaust system....and I am embarrassed to say that I don't even have any pictures of my truck yet?!
I am gooing to take pictures of my truck with some good detail of my exhaust system the next time I detail it.
I notice that you are in Altoona, PA.......my uncle, Karl Eshelman was born and raised in Altoona....and I was born and raised in York, PA.....which is not too far from Altoona. I have lived in Charlote, NC since 1972. It's nice to talk with a fellow Pennsylvanian....
I will post my truck pictures as soon as I take them.....hopefully in the next few weeks.
I am sorry I can't be of any help to you as I am not al all familiar with the 4.6L V8 and it's exhaust system.
Hopefully somebody on here will be able to help you out.....but from what I have seen, it appears that the vast majority of us got the 5.4, 3-valve, Triton V8s in our trucks.
thanks. do you know the type of flowmaster you recommend and the price. i want a good deep sound but nothing outrageous or off road sounding. plus a few extra horses.
I just installed the series 70 Flowmaster on my reg cab with dual exhaust exiting out the rear with the Corvette chrome tips. It has a nice roar when you step on the throttle and mellows out when you hit your desired cruising speed. I'll post a couple of pics when the weather gets a bit better here in the CSRA (thats local talk for the Central Savannaha River Area--Augusta, Ga). There is a new shop in North Augusta, S.C. called Truck Accessories or something along those lines, that sells the Chrome handles and door rings and I am sure they carry the chrome covers for the tailgate handleal also.

(1) Single Flowmaster 70 Series, Big Block II Muffler with a centered 3" inlet and DUAL 2.5" outlets, into DUAL 2.5" SHORT and bent tailpipes, into 18" long x 3" diameter, slant tip, polished 304 stainless steel "tips".....exiting out the right side of the truck, centered between the rear door and rear wheel well opening....
I looks great, sounds great, and has noticeably better low end torque and better acceleration.
The ONLY thing missing from this "more air in - more air out" concept is the K & N Air Filter.....which is not yet available for the 5.4L, 3-valve Triton V8. But based on my phone conversation with K & N of yesterday afternoon......it will be availablle in about a month or so....
I posted a new album with a couple of pics of the Cat Back Flowmaster series 70 dual exhaust. Some background info: The entire installation was done by a muffler shop and with the dual input to the Flowmaster Series 70 Muffler and the dual exits w/Corvette style chrome tips cost $328.00 total. The sound of this system is awsome. It has adeep throaty tone during acceleration and then becomes almost quite at cruising doing 70 mph. Hope ya'll enjoy the pics 'cause I sure am enjoying my ride!
