Ranger trans swap

I hope someone can help. I want to change my 1994 ranger automatic transmission with a 1997 ranger transmission: I know that there is a major difference in how the two transmissions work but is there a way to accomplish this? Maybe some conversion company makes a wiring harness and computer that will connect the 1994 engine with the 1997 transmission. I have a 3.0 engine , two wheel drive. Will appreciate any input.

I'm no tranny expert so I can't really help you out, but maybe someone else will come along that's done it...
