Pinging 351m
I have a 1978 f150 with 351m. I must use 92+ octane to get it to run without pinging. Would like to be able to run 87. It does run very good though! I tried to adjust timing a little but couldn't get the distributor to move without putting a pipewrench or someting on it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Soak the dizzy down with PB Blaster, after a few days you should be able to move it. If your EGR has been disconnected that would be a likely reason for the pinging. Advancing the timing should take care of it.
