I have read alot about zero rust in this forum and i was wondering if those of you that have used this product on frame restoration if you applied color over it or do you just leave it. I am wanting my frame to be a gloss black. This is a frame up restoration and am shooting for a show truck so any help would be great.
Have owned this truck for 22 years and was a daily driver. Now my plans are to restore, customize, show and cruise.
thank you.

The ZR people make a product called 'Crystal Coat'. It is a single stage clearcoat designed to work with the ZR paint. Like any clearcoat, it turns the semi-gloss into a gloss. You can get it in rattle cans also.
My experience with it is limited. I have used it on a bare steel master cylinder to protect it from rusting. It seemed to work. I have also recently paint my 53 frame with ZR and then used the CC on parts of it. It gave me the shine I desired.
I have a friend that coated his aluminum wheels with CC. 2 years later the CC was still working.
