Any ideas on how to disable the automatic
4WD opperation that was one of Ford's 'better
ideas' without pulling the fuse?
I know it somehow disables it during turns?
Do NOT quote me on this but I seem to remember seeing a thread here about doing this mod. The poster had cut the brown wire (i think) going into the transfer case. He claimed that this was the wire for the "electronic clutch" in the transfer case that engaged the front end. Like I said, don't quote me on this, just stating what I remember. Try using the Search feature at the top of the page.
If it is the brown wire that you cut, it wouldn't be too hard to run a switch inside to be able to turn the auto mode on and off from the cab. You could splice the wiring somewhere out of sight so everything looks original too. It would also help if you posted details about your rig (year, engine, etc)
